HotDash expects Control4 projects in a certain format for smooth installation.
Two supported scenarios are described below.
¶ Single Room per Controller Scenario
Most common and reliable setup — each hotel room has its own controller (director).
System is decentralized, so a malfunction in one room does not affect others.

¶ PMS Room Number
HotDash parses the entire project as one hotel room.
The room number is parsed from the project name in the format:
xxx - template name
Example: 0705 - DecoTypeG → Floor 7, Room 0705.
¶ Device Names
Assign each device to an actual part of the room (Bedroom, Kitchen, Living, etc.).
These locations (“Sub Units” in HotDash) don’t need to be part of the device name.
¶ Multiple Rooms per Controller Scenario
One project can serve multiple guest rooms. Key differences:
- Guest room number is not parsed from project name.
- Sub-units (Kitchen, Living, etc.) are not applicable.
- Each room in the project is parsed as a separate guest room.
Room name must match PMS guest room number. - Multiple HotDash occupancy driver instances can be used (one per guest room).
- Project templating (PUSH) is not supported (each project is unique).
- Multiple Suites property of the HotDash master driver MUST be set to YES before setting the DCS IP property.
Example: Project contains rooms 441, 442, 443.

Remove unused rooms from the project to prevent them appearing in the HotDash App.
